For the presentation of Louis XIII’s handcrafted classic decanter, SUPERBIEN was invited to produce a swirling video platform for the king of cognacs, inspired by the passage of time inherent in its production and the signature wrist gesture that allows for its full enjoyment.

A work of art in itself, each Louis XIII decanter is handcrafted and numbered; an edition in a rare series. The cognac contained in the refined crystal is aged in old Limousin tierçons, making each sip an encapsulated moment in history. To allow for maximum indulgence in the drinking experience, connoisseurs know the essential movement of the glass: the swirl. This slow, hypnotic gesture allows the eaux-de-vie made with the finest grapes grown in Grand Champagne to aerate into its most efflorescent form.

Inspired by this expression of the wrist, SUPERBIEN produced a swirling video platform to set the stage for the precious vessel, with the experience presented in three parts illustrating the production of the elite cognac: the birth, the transformation, and the wait.

As visitors gaze in wonder, the platform visuals swirl, glisten and drop away, images melding into each other as the maelstrom-like eye at the center of the platform—the bottle itself—remains still, timeless as time passes. Doors open as if revealing the bottle, and the long-awaited moment to finally imbibe Louis XIII.
